Brad Wilson started in
radio broadcasting at the age of 14. He is in the record books as
being one of the youngest radio announcers ever. His very first radio job was
at KYAL Radio in Mckinney,
Texas playing gospel music on
Sunday mornings. He
went on to have a 16-year career behind the microphone at some of
the leading radio stations in Dallas-Ft. Worth. Even though he worked in
various formats, his love for country gospel has always been
there. Making it even closer to home is the fact that his
father is legendary country gospel DJ Bob
Wilson.
In 1985, Brad left
broadcasting to pursue a career in the film industry. He moved to
New
York and went to work with
actor Robert Duvall’s Production Company. This began an 11-year
alliance with Duvall encompassing 18 feature films. Among them
the CBS Mini Series “LONESOME DOVE” and the
HBO epic "STALIN” shot in location in
Moscow, for which Duvall won
the Golden Globe for Best Actor.
In 1992, the formation
of Robert Duvall’s "BUTCHERS RUN FILMS” was announced with
offices in Hollywood with Brad as the company's Vice
President of Development and Production. He and Mr. Duvall went on to
develop and produce many award winning
films.
Brad currently serves as a partner in
Power in Faith,
producing faith based content such as the TV drama series
"BELIEVERS AMONG US" with his partners,
veteran film director, Ralph Portillo and respected film producer,
Jamie Elliott.
Power
in Faith has allowed him to return
to his first love…broadcasting. Each week Brad Wilson hosts
the nationally syndicated radio show “America’s Country
Gospel.”
Brad
Wilson is a member of the Academy of Television Arts &
Sciences as well as a charter member of the National Radio Hall of
Fame of Texas.
